As a level 3 sports massage therapist you will have the required skills and confidence to work safely and effectively on non-pathological tissue at events and in a clinic room setting; covering post-event, pre-event, intra-event and maintenance massage.
There are no prerequisite qualifications for this course.
It is possible to complete this L3 Sports Massage course in 3 months. Choose between 6 weekend days (9.30am to 4.30pm), 6 Tuesdays (9.30am to 4.30pm), or 9 evening sessions (6pm to 9.30pm). There will be approximately 50 hours tutor contact time (32 hr + some online learning for the evening course), up to 8 hours of home study a week, plus an observation day.
Much of your contact time with the tutor will focus on developing your practical techniques and confidence within the sports therapy setting. This will involve you treating a range of clients provided by York Holistic Training during the later stage of the course, and providing massage at a sporting event.
Class sizes are kept small, at a maximum of 8, to enable you to receive the one on one tuition necessary for you to get the most out of this course .
The majority of the theory content will be completed by you at home, but will be reinforced throughout your practical sessions. You will also have access to YHT’s online learning videos to support your practical skill development at home. This is life time access, allowing you to view new and updated videos post certification.
Student numbers allowing, past and current students are also offered the opportunity to observe or act as clients in classes they have already taken in order to consolidate learning, free of charge.
Your tutor, Rachel Booth, has been a practicing sports massage therapist and lecturer for many years; specialising in NeuroKinetic muscle testing, related remedial treatment and exercise and pain management. She is always either a phone call or an email away if clarification and guidance is required between tutor contact sessions.
Assessment for the Level 3 Sports Massage course is largely ongoing in the form of a production of a portfolio of evidence. This contains 5 short practical worksheets and a massage log. Practical assessments of your ability to apply sports massage methods to non-pathological tissue will also take place, culminating in an observation day at the end of the course.
Your knowledge of anatomy and physiology for sports therapies will be assessed through the completion of a multiple choice paper.
Course Fees and Payment Options
The cost for this L3 sports massage course is £1250. A deposit of £250, made by bank transfer, is required on booking. You then have 2 options:
Option 1 – Pay the full remaining course fee on 1st September 2019
Option 2 – 0% Interest Free CreditPay 4 monthly instalments of £250 by standing order. The first instalment is not due until the 1st of the month of commencement of the course.
The course fee covers all tuition, assessment, examination fees, certification and course manual.
