Purpose
The purpose of this Quality Assurance Policy is to put in place guidelines to ensure quality provision, and ongoing quality improvement, of training provision.
FOCUS OF QUALITY ASSURANCE
Courses
To offer fully accredited courses to satisfy learners needs and requirements
To provide high quality training at competitive prices and within a flexible framework
Plenty of practical ‘hands on’ experience in the classroom
An appropriate and valid range of assessment methods are used that match the requirements of the qualification
Staff
To strive for exemplary delivery within the classroom, using personal reflection and learner feedback to guide future lesson planning
To ensure that all tutors have suitable qualifications and experience in the area in which they are teaching and that CPD requirements are satisfied and recorded
To ensure that all Assessors have the minimum of the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent)
To ensure that all Internal Verifiers are appropriately qualified
All staff will be made aware of York Holistic Training’s Policies and will know where they can access all documentation
Will respond to learner phone calls and emails effectively and in a timely manner
Learners
Are given sufficient and appropriate advice and guidance on the qualification procedures and assessments
Are given information about the VTCT Learner Handbook and are directed to the VTCT website where they can download their own copy
Are shown copies of and are directed to where they can access all YHT’s policies and procedures
Agreed individual assessment plans are established
Are given opportunities for one-to-one progress reviews, where assessment plans can be modified accordingly
Are given plenty of one-to-one learning time due to class sizes being small (most class sizes being 6 and none being more than 10)
Are encouraged to contact their tutor by phone or email for support when necessary
Learner views are actively sought throughout training programmes and learners are encouraged to fill in a formal review on the standard of training at the end of their course
Learner reviews are evaluated and acted upon where necessary
Resources
The needs of all learners are met via the use of a range of teaching styles and assessment methods, together with the differentiation of teaching materials as and when required
Learning areas and materials are appropriate and comply with health and safety standards
Assessment and Verification
All assessments and verification activities conform to VTCT requirements and are in accordance with our Assessment and Internal Verification Policy
All written policies and procedures are reviewed on an annual basis to ensure they remain fit for purpose
