Reflexology Course

Course Overview

reflex1This internationally recognised qualification has been designed to prepare you for a career as a reflexologist. Being a level 3 course, upon completion you will be able to gain insurance and work as a practitioner in this exciting and growing complementary therapy.

Throughout the course you will; develop a wide range of practical reflexology skills, gain an in depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies and further your knowledge of the principles and practice of complementary therapies. You will also cover the basic principles of setting up and running a small business.

There is a new pre-requisite qualification for this course due to Covid-19, the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID_19) for Complementary Therapies and Sports Massage. This simple, short, but essential course forms part of the pre-course work for the Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology at a cost of £50.  With the support of a related online presentation and teaching video, a workbook is completed by you at home in preparation for a multiple choice paper that you will sit on the first or second day of your Reflexology course.  This pre-requisite is now compulsory for any learner wanting to take the L3 Diploma in Reflexology with any training provider.

Upon booking you will also be emailed some Anatomy and Physiology workbooks to enable you to begin your learning straight away.

Course Format

The Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology course can be completed within 5 months on selected Tuesdays (9.30am to 3pm).  Alternatively, you can take the course on selected Thursday evenings and take 7 months to become qualified. This course is more suitable for students who already have a busy work schedule.  Both courses consist of approximately 50 hours tutor contact time, plus an examination day. In addition to this, the 5 month course requires up to 10 hours of home study a week, whilst the 7 month course requires up to 7.

* If you have already completed the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage you will only need to complete 1 unit out of the 4 to attain this qualification, at a reduced cost.

Much of your contact time with the tutor will focus on developing your practical techniques and confidence within the complementary therapy setting. The majority of the theory content will be completed by you at home, but will be reinforced throughout your practical sessions.  YHT’s Reflexology Practical Vimeo Library will be made available to you upon booking to support practical application of techniques throughout the course.

York Holistic Training endeavours to make the practical element of the course as close to ‘the real thing’ as possible. With this in mind, past students have benefited from spending approximately 20% of their contact time working on external clients provided by the Centre.  A truly invaluable experience, producing confident and competent practitioners with excellent interpersonal skills.

Your tutor will always only be a phone call or email away if clarification and guidance is required between tutor contact sessions.
